Learning, Curiosity & Experience Design
I design and facilitate experiences that help people learn, explore and see familiar things differently.
My background crosses science, engineering, languages, education, technology, music and art. Rather than treating these as separate subjects, I am interested in the connections between them — and in creating situations where people can discover those connections for themselves.
Much of my work takes place outside conventional classrooms. A forest can become a laboratory; a volcanic landscape can become a lesson in geology, ecology and deep time; a city can become a puzzle; a conversation can become an experiment in perspective-taking.
I work particularly with teachers and learners of all ages, using experiential learning, games, creative challenges, technology, discussion and the physical environment. Increasingly, I am also exploring how AI can support curiosity and reflection without replacing the agency of the learner.
What I design
My work includes:
experiential courses and workshops
outdoor and place-based learning
creative and interdisciplinary activities
educational games and challenges
facilitated conversations and reflection
AI-assisted learning experiences
small-group explorations of science, creativity and the future
The common thread is simple:
Create the conditions in which people become curious enough to discover for themselves what is interesting.
I am less concerned about telling people what to think than in helping them notice more, ask better questions, make unexpected connections and leave with something they want to continue exploring.
My aim is not to make life frictionless. It is to remove unnecessary friction so that more of our effort can go towards complexity we choose: learning, creating, exploring, relating and becoming more capable of shaping our own lives.
